AFC Richmond meets Matilda

This morning we had a nice sleep in with no alarm set, which was great after our busy day yesterday.

We got up slowly and headed at a slow pace towards Paddington Station to get the train to Richmond.  We had visited Richmond at the beginning of our trip with Julie and Paul and thought it was so nice that we might like to go and spend a few more hours there.  Good choice, because it was a lot quieter today than it was when we visited the first time.  We had a little wander through the streets, found the Ted Lasso store and of course, we purchased stuff. After this we decided it was time for brunch. We found a little cafe and orderer food and coffee and sat down.  While we were eating a lovely older couple came and sat down at the table next to us and they had a labradoodle with them who seemed just as ball obsessed as Poppy.  His mum even had a spare tennis ball in her bag for him.

After brunch we decided to go for another little walk around Richmond and then headed to the train station to get on the train to take us to the Victoria and Albert Museum.  This place is HUGE! You could easily spend all day in there and probably still not see everything.  We somehow managed to enter via the back door and couldn't figure out why the map didn't seem right.  We figure it out eventually.  We walked around the museum for a while and then decided it was time to continue our day.

After the museum we headed to Covent Garden and spent a bit of time walking around here and Carrie made a few purchases as well. We headed to pint o'clock and then decided an early dinner was in order as we had eaten brunch and nothing else all day and we had to head to the theatre again.

We found a nice little pasta bar and headed there for dinner.  We shared a couple of different dishes and a super nice salad (so good we ordered a second one).  After our pensioner hour dinner, we still had some time to squeeze in another pint before heading to the theatre. We stopped on the way to the pub and listened to a couple of really good buskers along the way.

After our music and pints we headed to the theatre to see Matilda.  We sat up the top again and watched another great show. The kids did a really great job and the set design is phenomenal.  Another great night.  Again, another longish day (thank god for the sleep in) and we headed back on the tube to Paddington again.  Another busy day planned tomorrow. Stay tuned and good night!
